Release Date: November 13, 2026
Magic is officially going where no Magic set has gone before.
Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek arrives November 13, bringing 60 years of Star Trek history into Universes Beyond, and this one is shaping up to be a massive release for both Magic players and collectors.
We are talking Kirk. Picard. Janeway. The Borg. Klingons. Starfleet. Iconic ships. Classic moments from across generations of Star Trek.
And yes, there are even actual actor-signed Magic cards hidden inside Collector Boosters.
So yeah... there is a LOT to unpack here.
Preorders are officially open at Apollo's Vault.

First Things First: The Chase Is REAL
Let's start with what collectors are probably already talking about.
ACTUALLY SIGNED STAR TREK CARDS
Not printed signatures.
Not serialized facsimiles.
Hand-signed cards.
Wizards created seven different Signed Headliner cards featuring signatures from actors who portrayed iconic Star Trek characters. According to Wizards, approximately 250 copies of each signed card exist.
And there is only one place to find them:
Collector Boosters.
These cards are randomly inserted into Collector Boosters across all languages, although the signed card itself will always be English.
That immediately gives this set a legitimate grail chase, especially when you combine Magic collectors, Star Trek collectors, and autograph collectors all chasing the same extremely limited cards.
Somebody is going to open one.
Might as well be you.

Stardates Cards Bring Magic Staples Into Star Trek
This might be one of our favorite concepts in the entire set.
Wizards is taking recognizable cards from Magic's history and reimagining them as moments and characters from Star Trek.
There are 30 Stardates cards in the set.
One of the examples already revealed is Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, represented through Star Trek as Khan, Engineered Evil.
Non-foil Stardates cards can appear in both Play Boosters and Collector Boosters, while traditional foil versions are exclusive to Collector Boosters.
For collectors who love Universes Beyond treatments of established Magic staples, this is absolutely one of the areas we're watching.
LCARS Shock Lands. Yes, All Ten.
Wizards also took one of the most recognizable interfaces in Star Trek, the Library Computer Access and Retrieval System, better known as LCARS, and turned it into a special Magic card treatment.
There are 29 LCARS frame cards, but the real headline for a lot of Magic players is going to be the lands.
All 10 Shock Lands are in the set.
The LCARS Shock Lands feature planetary landscapes inside a special LCARS-inspired frame.
Non-foil and traditional foil LCARS cards can appear in Play and Collector Boosters.
The premium Surge Foil versions are Collector Booster exclusives.
Yeah. We're chasing those.
Classic Enterprise Cards
If your version of Star Trek is Kirk, Spock and the original Enterprise, Wizards didn't forget about you.
There are 24 Classic Enterprise cards inspired by vintage Star Trek posters, using textured, painterly artwork and a retro frame designed around the look of The Original Series era.
You can find non-foil and traditional foil versions in Play and Collector Boosters, while Surge Foil Classic Enterprise cards are exclusive to Collector Boosters.
This is one of those treatments we think is going to look significantly better in person than it does on a screen.
Scene Cards Are Back
Magic's panoramic Scene Cards make a lot of sense for a franchise with this many iconic moments.
There are 25 Scene Cards appearing across Play and Collector Boosters.
Wizards is also releasing two dedicated Scene Boxes:
Enterprise-Q
and
Divergent Timelines
Each Scene Box contains:
-
3 Play Boosters
-
6 traditional foil borderless Scene Cards
-
6 Art Cards
-
1 Display Easel
For Star Trek collectors who might not even normally buy Magic, these are probably going to be one of the more interesting display products from the release.

What Star Trek Products Can You Actually Buy?
There are a LOT of ways into this set.
Here's the Apollo's Vault breakdown.
Star Trek Play Booster Box
If you want to crack packs, draft the set, build decks, hunt cards, or just experience Star Trek as a normal Magic release, this is where you start.
Each Play Booster Box contains 30 Play Boosters, with 14 Magic cards in each pack.
Play Boosters are where you'll find the core set alongside various Booster Fun treatments and collectibles.
This is the product for the player or collector who wants to really explore the set instead of going directly into the premium Collector Booster chase.

Star Trek Collector Booster Box
Okay collectors.
This is your section.
Each Collector Booster Box contains 12 Collector Boosters, with 15 Magic cards per pack.
This is where Wizards loads up the premium treatments.
We're talking premium foils, extended-art cards, Booster Fun treatments, Surge Foils, and some of the biggest collector cards in the release.
More importantly:
This is the ONLY booster where the hand-signed Headliner cards can be found.
If you're hunting the biggest grails in Star Trek, this is where that hunt lives.

FOUR Star Trek Commander Decks
Commander players aren't getting one or two decks.
We're getting four:
Federation Fleet
Landing Party
Klingon Fury
We Are the Borg
Each deck is a complete 100-card Commander deck featuring 32 new-to-Magic cards, a traditional foil borderless face commander, tokens and a deck box.
And honestly, the names alone tell you exactly what kind of Star Trek fantasy each deck is trying to deliver.
Want Starfleet?
Done.
Want Klingons?
Done.
Want to assimilate the entire table?
Resistance is futile.
You can choose your deck directly from our Commander product page.

Collector's Edition Commander Decks
And then Wizards decided the normal Commander decks weren't enough.
All four decks also receive Collector's Edition versions.
These contain the same ready-to-play 100-card deck concept, but this time you're entering premium territory.
The face commander receives the Borderless Surge Foil treatment and the other 99 cards are also Surge Foil, including the 32 new-to-Magic cards.
Even the included double-sided tokens get the Surge Foil treatment.
If you're the type of Commander player who was going to foil out the deck anyway, Wizards basically did the work for you.

The Borg Are Coming
Star Trek isn't just being pasted onto existing Magic mechanics either.
The set introduces and expands mechanics designed around the franchise.
Assimilate allows you to take control of creatures or put creatures onto the battlefield under your control, add a +1/+1 counter, and turn them into Borg artifact creatures.
Yes.
You can literally assimilate creatures into the Borg.
There is also Federation, which rewards you for controlling a diverse group of non-Borg creature types.
Face a Dilemma rewards players for making modal choices on spells and abilities.
And Spacecraft and Station return, allowing you to build charge counters on ships and unlock additional abilities, including eventually turning some of those ships into creatures.
Flavor-wise, Wizards had a lot to work with here.

Our Take
This is one of those Universes Beyond sets where the crossover just makes sense.
Star Trek has 60 years of characters, ships, factions, villains, technology and stories to pull from, and Wizards clearly isn't treating this as a small crossover.
You've got four Commander decks.
You've got all ten Shock Lands.
You've got Stardates versions of established Magic cards.
You've got LCARS treatments.
You've got Surge Foils.
You've got Scene Cards.
You've got collectible starship schematics.
And sitting at the very top of the Vault are approximately 250 copies of each of seven actually hand-signed Star Trek cards hiding inside Collector Boosters.
That's a chase.
Whether you're here because you've played Magic for 20 years, watched Star Trek for 40, want to build a Borg Commander deck, or just want to hunt one of the craziest crossover collectibles Magic has produced, there's something in this release for you.
Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek launches globally November 13, 2026.
